TIME CAPSULE

,When you make a time capsule, you record information and select items that are important to you, then put them away in a container and only open it when you are much older. The joy of a time capsule is that when you do finally open it, you will be able to connect with your past in meaningful way! We have commissioned Gillian Hibbs, author/illustrator of ERROL'S GARDEN to create five fun-filled worksheets just for you and your time capsule! To print out your FREE worksheets, CLICK HERE.

STEP 1: fill out your time capsule worksheets any way that you like. Show your creativity and the answer questions about the things you love!

STEP 2: Find a few objects that you would like to include in your capsule. Any container will do. A few ideas for objects to include: small toys, drawings, photos, rocks, shells or pressed flowers picked this year. ​

​STEP 3: If you want to, you can decorate your container with stickers! Then put a note on the outside with your name and the year. You might also like to add a note about when you are allowed to open it. For example: DO NOT OPEN UNTIL 2030!

TIP: Make sure there is nothing with any moisture inside your box and store it somewhere dark. Over time, sunlight can bleach paper so make sure your capsule isn't stored in a sunny location.
